This piece of granite may or may not have been the first solid ground upon which the Pilgrims set foot in what is now Plymouth. The rock has been relocated several times and its size was greatly reduced by breakage during relocation and the repeated chippings of souvenir seekers. It is currently housed inside a faux Greek temple.
