Randy describes this scene of immolation so disquieting to a photo-based life-form such as a Logozoan: "I burned my test prints. Each one a possible artwork, hopeful images from a long journey. But the memories had become a burden. Then I tossed the negatives into the fire, just to be certain. Villages and necropolises. Strangers. The photograph of a lost friend, taken one morning in a small-town coffee shop, terribly hung-over. Even that one. All gone."
