Saamis Teepee
Medicine Hat, Alberta

This 20-story-tall teepee was erected at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics to honor the achievement of native North American peoples. Who knew that they invented the skyscraper? The structure was subsequently moved to Medicine Hat. If you're puzzling over the connection between giant steel teepees and writing "your life in a language you don't know," you may feel reassured that Ted, our photographer, is also puzzling over this same matter.
